This notice explains what Say Symbol processes when you use the website and desktop companion. Contact support@saysymbol.com with privacy questions or removal requests.

Your searches and recordings

• AI search: your description, language and recent follow-up context go through our server to DeepSeek. Time questions may include a reference time zone; conversion questions may include previous conversion details. Avoid confidential information.
• Cloud voice: with your consent, recordings of up to 20 seconds go to Groq for transcription. We do not store recordings or transcripts in our database. Groq’s data practices apply, including any provider retention. Transcribed text submitted for AI search goes to DeepSeek.
• On-device voice: audio is processed locally. Model files download from this site and Hugging Face and may remain in your browser cache. Text submitted for AI search is processed as above.
• Currency rates: Frankfurter receives the requested currencies, not your amount or description.

Accounts and saved items

Cloudflare hosts the website and database. Google handles optional Google sign-in; Resend delivers email codes. We store your account ID, email, verification status, basic profile and session records. Email codes are stored as short-lived hashes. Session cookies are secure and HttpOnly.

Favorites, recent copies and time-zone preferences are saved in your browser. Optional Plus sync uploads saved symbols, cities and currencies after you enable it on each device. Recent copies and time-zone settings stay local. Export or delete cloud saves in Account; clearing browser site data removes local saves.

Payments and usage records

Creem handles checkout, card details and invoices. We store customer, subscription and order references; payment status and billing dates; pack expiry dates and accepted purchase terms; and usage counters. We do not receive full card details.

Usage records contain an account hash, request type, time, outcome, duration and allowance used, not your search text or recordings. Anonymous rate requests may use a daily hash of your network address to limit abuse. People on a shared network may share a limit. Providers may separately keep network and service logs.

Feedback and support

Feedback stores the tool, category, message, date and a random reference. Searches, audio, email and favorites are not attached automatically. Only the site owner can read it. Support email is handled through Resend and includes the sender address and message you provide. Do not send passwords, card details or sensitive documents.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits, referral sources, countries, browsers and page performance. It does not use analytics cookies or browser storage to track visitors. We do not send search text, recordings, saved items or account details as analytics events. Some visits are excluded by our regional privacy settings or browser protections. How long we keep data

• Free usage records: the current UTC month or the trailing 7 days, whichever is longer.
• Monthly paid usage: 90 days. Feedback: 90 days.
• Old records are removed during later requests or owner review, so they may remain longer while the service is inactive. Email-delivery counters are removed after the UTC month when sending resumes.
• Cloud saves: until you delete them. Deleting cloud saves does not delete copies on your devices.
• Account records: until account removal, subject to outstanding benefits and billing-record obligations. Payment events, pack usage and order references remain to maintain balances, handle refunds and prevent duplicate credits; they are not removed on the 90-day schedule.

For account or feedback removal, email support. Include your feedback reference if relevant. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account or saved items. Hosting backups and provider-held records follow those providers’ policies.

Desktop app

The app saves appearance and position settings on your device. It opens the tools in your default browser. The clock, cat and quick symbols work locally; the app does not listen in the background, monitor your clipboard or use AI while idle. Copying writes the selected symbol to your clipboard. Website login, search and voice follow the rules above. Earlier Mac versions may retain website data in their embedded browser.

Other services and changes

Our providers include Cloudflare, Google, Resend, DeepSeek, Groq, Frankfurter, Hugging Face, Google Fonts and Creem. They may process network information and data outside your country under their own policies. We do not currently display ads or use advertising trackers.

We will update this notice and the relevant controls before introducing new data uses.
